As a consultants for Altran, I was called in by Compin to head their R&D team responsible for designing these next generation seats for the TGV (first and second class). The concept and Industrial design had already been frozen by Compin, MBD Design and Christian Lacroix. My role was to turn the early prototypes into manufacturable parts that rigorously followed the design intent and remained under a stringent mass threshold. I managed a team of 8 mechanical engineer, 2 procurement officers and a list of vendors, all the while maintaining the relationship with final client SNCF (itself devided in a multitude of stakeholders, from marketing VP to head of refurbishing). This 50 million euros project was the most challenging and stressful experience of my life, which also made me the better project manager I am today.
